Self Education Law Enforcement Family, Inc.S.E.L.F. (Self Education Law Enforcement Family, Inc.) is a non-profit organization designed to prepare African American boys to become responsible African American men. S.E.L.F. is a program that focuses on prevention (Elementary), intervention (Jr. High), and redirection (High School) of youth at all levels of involvement with gangs, drugs, violence and all unacceptable behavior. The Rites of Passage is a 22-week program that develops customs, traditions, rituals, ceremonies, self esteem, cultural understanding, personal responsibility, discipline and strong work ethics. The Program teaches interpersonal and communication skills, African history, african American history, decision making, consequences of gang/drug involvement and positive alternatives to unacceptable behavior. |
